Choosing the correct flight level for IFR or VFR
Eastbound IFR flights = odd flight levels (e.g. FL110, FL130, FL150, etc.)
Westbound IFR flights = even flight levels (e.g. FL100, FL120, FL160, etc.)
Eastbound VFR flights = odd flight levels (e.g. FL075, FL095, FL115, etc.)
Westbound VFR flights = even flight levels (e.g. FL085. FL105, FL125, etc.)
Transition Altitude (TA) for most airports = 6000ft
Transition Level (TL) in most cases = FL075

For the Lusaka / Ndola controlled airspace corridor the rule to use is NOSE for IFR.
North Odd South Even
Add 500 feet for VFR.
